Baby Shower

This weekend I rode over with my parents to our family's winery in Prosser for my cousin's Rachel and Katy's baby shower. Each are due next month with baby number 4 and their oldest are both girls followed by two boys, so we are all hoping they will be girls (as you can see on the cake). I made Katy a diaper cake which I was very proud of! Most of my family, like us, choose to be surprised on the sex of the baby. We had to come up with names with what ever letter cube melted in our ice cube, I got H so I suggested Hayes for a boy and Hennessey and Henley (Andrea's suggestion) for a girl. So many people ask me how we did it and that there was no way they could have waited because they wanted to be prepared. I don't really understand how you can't prepare if you don't know the sex, we had everything and more and we didn't know what we were having, and so buy nutral colors, and all of the sudden once it was a girl we got a huge flood of pink clothes. I've known so many people who were hoping for a boy and found out it was a girl and then were dissappointed. There is NO way you will be dissappointed when the baby comes out. Plus, it is the one thing that the Dad's get to do, go out into the waiting room and say "It's a Girl" which I know was a very proud moment for Jeramy. I was there when Chad walked out with Avery in her little pink hat and it was a very magical moment. And it is truly the only surprise you will get in your life. For some reason, Jeramy and I had decided that we were having a boy, don't ask us why, but were so excited when she came out and was a girl, but I did make him double check.
Also, my cousin Becky had her miracle baby boy Benjamin on Thursday, so we are all very excited about that. It is actually amazing that I was pregnant by myself and that none of my other cousin's were pregnant. I don't think my cousin Katy has ever been pregnant by herself. Before Becky had her baby 4 of my cousins are pregnant.
Sage had so much fun with all of her cousins. She fell in love with Kier's frisbee from McDonalds so my dad bought it off of him for a dollar and it is her favorite toy.
On the way home we stopped in Troutdale and went outlet shopping (for Sage of course) and when we got home she played in her duck tub, and fell asleep all cuddled up with her Daddy (who missed her SO much) after an exhausting but fun trip. I wish we could have spent more time with everyone though.

I have the same post! LOL I agree though! I know that when this baby comes out it won't matter what it is, boy or girl we love it as our baby! I don't even think Gracie will be dissappointed if it's a boy, she will be gaga over it either way! Thanks so much for coming down, it really means a lot to me that we all stay in touch! That diaper cake was awsome! I finally had to take it apart though, it was consuming my kitchen counter! :)
Love you lots! Sage is an absolute doll! I did not hear a peep out of her the whole time. What a good girl, oh and Joey popped a new tooth today! Explains a little of the crankies the last few days. So 4 on top and 4 on bottom now!

I was so glad you got to come over, even if it was just for a short while.  Your parents too!! It's nice being able to visit.  Hopefully you and Jeremy can both come over sometime before it gets too cold and Jeremy and Chad and go hunting again.  I feel the same as Katy, it's important to me that we stay in touch as much as possible, but I know we always will.  Love you lots too!!:)As far as not knowing the sex, you are right  on.  I can't imagine knowing, just takes away that entire excitement of having the baby and picking the name out, etc..  Glad you guys did it that way.  Give Sage lots of hugs and kisses.  She gets cuter and cuter every time I see her.  I've never seen a kid change so much over such a short period of time!!
